Tempos Vega Sicilia ‘Pintia’ 2017/18, Toro

Vega Sicilia is widely regarded as the most prestigious name in Spanish wine. Pintia is made from a single vineyard – bearing the same name – on the banks of the River Duero. Here, hot summers result in Tempranillo grapes with concentrated, ripe flavours, which often have to be picked early in the harvest to ensure the resulting wine has balanced freshness and acidity. You’ll find it expressive and silky, with intense notes of black fruits, spice and cedar. It can be cellared for up to 15 years, but it’s also drinking well now and is an ideal match for venison.
