Taittinger Prélude Champagne

One of the most recognisable – and respected – names in Champagne, Taittinger was founded in 1931 and remains family-led to this day. Vitalie Taittinger heads up the show as President, her brother Clovis manages global sales, and winemaker Alexandre Ponnavoy is master of everything that’s happening in the cellar. This refined cuvée is made with grapes handpicked exclusively from Grand Cru plots, with the blend consisting of equal parts Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. It was originally produced in magnum form to celebrate the millennium. But ongoing demand for its elegant and complex character has secured it a permanent place in Taittinger’s collection. It’s bright and vibrant with flavours of white peach, lemon and grapefruit, and will develop richer brioche notes with additional bottle aging. You won’t find a more refined apéritif, just as enjoyable sipped on its own as it is with canapés like smoked salmon blinis.
