Louis Jadot Morey-Saint-Denis 2016

Few Burgundy names are as recognisable as Louis Jadot, founded in the region in 1859 and dedicated to producing top-quality wines ever since. Today sustainability also forms a core part of the approach with vineyards around Beaune managed to organic principles. This includes those in Morey-Saint-Denis, a commune situated between Gevrey-Chambertin and Chambolle-Musigny in the centre of the Côte de Nuits. Pinot Noir grapes from the calcareous clay soils – reaching altitudes of up to 360m – are gently pressed before being aged for 18 months in French oak barrels. With smooth, silky tannins, this elegant wine rich in red fruit and spice aromas would go splendidly with roasted chicken, Osso Bucco or grilled red meat.
