John Forrest Limited Edition Albariño 2023, Marlborough

Founded by doctors John and Brigid Forrest in the late 1980s, family-owned Forrest Wines is known for its innovative lower-alcohol styles. However, this Albariño is one of the exceptions. Now, its second-generation winemaker Beth makes the most of the cool-yet-sunny climate of Marlborough to craft bottlings that are vivid in character. She also introduced this mouth-watering Albariño that was inspired by her time working in Spain. The vines produce aromatic intensity with plenty of signature New Zealand-style fruitiness. With vibrant acidity, and notes of white peach, pear, apricots, quince and orange zest, this wine is both refreshing and balanced, and best enjoyed with fresh seafood dishes.
