At their world-renowned Napa Valley estate, Dan and Margaret Duckhorn built a reputation for fine Bordeaux varietal wines. In 1996, they decided it was time for a new challenge. So they founded Goldeneye, with the mission to make sublime Pinot Noir in the cooler Anderson Valley. Their three vineyards are some of the first in the state to achieve certification through the California Sustainable Winegrowing Alliance and their state-of-the-art winery has a coveted LEED Gold environmental certification. All the investment has paid off. Layered and complex, this wine has aromas of ripe raspberry, black cherry and baking spice, with juicy fruit flavours, plus savoury hints of nutmeg, leather and breakfast tea. With supple tannins and elegantly balanced acidity, it’ll go great with a whole range of dishes, from grilled salmon to barbecue pork ribs or pizza.
