Giacomo Fenocchio ‘Bussia’ Barolo DOCG 2018/19
£65.00
Barolo is undoubtedly one of Italy’s most iconic wines. It’s often called the ‘wine of kings’ or the ‘king of wines’, and the best ones are intense, complex and seriously age-worthy. This is one such example. It’s made by Giacomo Fenocchio, a family-run winery renowned for crafting exceptional, traditional-style Barolo. Now in the experienced hands of Giacomo’s son, Claudio, their low-intervention approach in the vineyard results in wines that truly reflect the region’s terroir. The grapes for this bottle come from Bussia – one of Barolo’s best crus – and it’s an excellent expression of the elegance and balance this area is famous for. Discover notes of wild berries, mint and rose petal with hints of forest floor. This will age excellently for another 20 years or more, but if you can’t wait to try it, pair its intense flavours and fine tannins with mature cheeses.
