Château de Pougelon ‘Voujon’ Brouilly 2020

Set at the foot of Mont Brouilly, Château de Pougelon have been part of the Beaujolais vineyard landscape for over 350 years. The estate promotes biodiversity through an agroforestry policy that allows trees to grow in the vineyard and cover crops to seed between the rows of vines. In the cellar winemaker Marine Descombe takes a low-intervention approach, letting the terroir shine through the canvas of her beloved Gamay grape. This gold-medal-winning wine from the Beaujolais Cru of Brouilly is rounded and well-balanced – great for pairing with a range of foods. Red- and black-fruit aromatics, typical of the Gamay grape, lead on to flavours of liquorice.
