Charles Saller Vintage Champagne 2015

The name might not be as well-known as some of the grand Champagne houses based in Reims or Épernay – but small family-owned Charles Saller impresses with its uncompromising quality. This blend of Pinot Meunier, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay is made by fifth-generation winemaker Jean Charles from hand-harvested vineyards, stretching across 20 prime hectares of the Marne Valley and Côte des Blancs. The wine was rested on lees for eight years to maximise character, and the reward for such patience is a richly aromatic profile of white peach, plum, dried fruits, toasted almonds, butter and brioche.
