Adegas Morgadío ‘Legado del Conde’ Albariño 2022, Rias Baixas

An irresistible example of Iberia’s most significant white grape variety, Albariño. With their vineyards located in an inland southern sub-zone of Rías Baixas, Legado del Conde’s wines are richer and more overtly fruity than those made by the coast. Yet this still has plenty of racy acidity and elegance to keep it tasting refreshing. Pedro Estévez is widely considered to be the best maker of white wines in Galicia, if not all of Spain. He works with the Méndez family, who own the Adegas Morgadío estate, to craft this sublime Albariño from vines which are typically 40 years old. They were planted before Rías Baixas DO even came into existence.
