The Coteaux Bourguignons is Burgundy’s newest appellation, created to highlight Pinot Noir and Chardonnay wines made exclusively in the heart of the region. Stretching across the Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits, the area benefits from Burgundy’s cool continental climate, ideal for growing grapes with finesse and character. Founded in 1859, Louis Jadot has become a major name in Burgundy, renowned for its commitment to quality and sustainability. This Coteaux Bourguignons Rouge is made from 100% Pinot Noir grapes sourced from both the Beaujolais and Louis Jadot’s own vineyards. The grapes are carefully destemmed and fermented in stainless steel, then aged for eight to 10 months in French oak, allowing the wine to develop depth and a smooth texture. Expect soft red fruit flavours with gentle tannins and fresh acidity, making it an ideal pairing for hearty dishes like Beef Bourguignon. This vintage is set to drink beautifully over the next 5-6 years.
