Henri Ehrhart ‘Harmonie’ Gewürztraminer 2020, Alsace

Family-owned Henri Ehrhart has been run by siblings Cyrille and Sophie for the past 15 years. They share a vision for making Alsace wines that are both exceptional and accessible, which is why they brought winemaker Laurence Schatz on board in 2010. It was clearly a good decision: Laurence has been awarded the prestigious Prix d’Excellence at Paris’s Concours Général Agricole not once but three times for her work. Henri Ehrhart’s Harmonie range is all about expressing typical Alsatian grape varieties and the land from which they come. And this Gewürztraminer, harvested from 35-year-old vines, is certainly brimming with character. Opulent aromatics of exotic fruit and rose are underlined by acidity and sweetness – expect notes of spice, mango and lychee.
